██ DAY 22 █████████████████████████ Today, I had a realization about my approach to game development—I’ve been struggling to make meaningful progress because I haven’t been planning effectively. I keep falling into a cycle where I think about what needs to be done, start working on it, then lose track and repeat the process. Over the past week, I’ve reflected on this, and I’ve come to the conclusion that my lack of solid planning is the main issue. While I have a rough outline, it’s not detailed enough to guide me consistently.
My initial goal, as mentioned in my first blog post, was to plan everything out thoroughly. At the time, I thought I had a workable plan, but it turned out to be insufficient. Now, I’m shifting my approach to meticulously plan every aspect of the game, even down to details like sound design for specific objects. Since this is new territory for me, I’ve traditionally relied on improvisation, but I realize that’s not sustainable for this project.
Recently, I discovered a tool called ClickUp, which I believe can help me stay organized. I stumbled upon it while searching for software to manage my graphic design business, and it seems versatile enough to handle both that and my game development needs. My plan is to use ClickUp to outline every detail of the game, track my progress step by step, and visualize how far I’ve come with each element. I’m still getting familiar with the tool, but I know this planning phase is critical, and I’m committed to getting it right—not just for this project, but for future ones as well.

I’m going to spend the next few days learning this software for my games and my business and get every aspect of this planned out and then come up with new updated time tables to put the game out 🙂
