Excuses

Excuses

So yeah… making games is hard. Staying consistent and dedicated? Even harder. That’s not the only reason I haven’t been posting or working on my game, but the old doubt bug has crept back into my mindset. I’ve been focused on my website and cranking out book covers, and that little voice has been whispering—questioning what I’m doing and whether game design is really what I want to pursue. The answer is yes… yes, it is.

That being said, work life has been overwhelming lately, and the burnout is real—and we’re only a month and ten days into 2025. I know it sounds like excuses, but between designing book covers, formatting manuscripts, and keeping up with client emails, it’s been a challenge just to stay ahead. On top of that, I’m rolling out a new website with a gig-style infrastructure to compete with platforms like Fiverr and Upwork.

I do plan to get back on the game dev wagon, but I need to get my work life squared away first. Honestly, I had no idea 2025 would hit this hard. For example, I set a modest income goal for January, considering all the changes to my workflow—and I ended up quadrupling it. Which is wild. But, of course, that also means I’ve got four times the workload I expected, so I’ve got to get through all of that first.

I’ve been working on the Steam page while jamming to Wolf and Raven. No idea who they are, but I like it. 😄 Just something I stumbled upon today. My goal for February is a bit more low-key: I want to put together a simple new trailer and get the store page live so I can start collecting wishlists.
